Villages in Indonesia, including Holimombo Village in Buton Regency, possess economic potential that needs to be optimized. Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDES) serve as a crucial instrument in efforts to enhance the local economy. BUMDES Landola Mainawa, located in Holimombo Village, has been established since 2020, but its management has not reached its full potential. This is attributed to several issues, including challenges in management and production. The objective of this activity is to increase the understanding of the target audience regarding the role and functions of BUMDES in the village economy. The methods employed include lectures and question-and-answer/discussions. The outcome of this Community Service activity is that the target audience now has a better understanding of the role and functions of BUMDES as a gateway to village economic independence. The BUMDES management has also identified the types of businesses that can be pursued by leveraging the available potentials in the village. The conclusion of this activity is the increased awareness of the target audience about the role and functions of BUMDES, with the hope that BUMDES management will be further improved in the future by implementing a collectively agreed-upon business venture, such as packaged drinking water production.
